My Background
I completed my psychiatric training at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where I treated a wide-range of presentations across diverse settings, including Bellevue Hospital, the Manhattan VA, Tisch Hospital, and NYU Langone's private faculty practice. During my training, I developed a deep conviction that, while there is value in traditional psychiatric diagnosis and medication, good psychiatric care requires a holistic understanding of a person's psychology. For me, this means that mind and body cannot be separated, that both biology and psychology are constantly interacting to produce our experience of the world. By considering the person as a whole, rather than reducing them to a set of symptoms or a disorder, I strive to provide care that not only relieves distress, but also supports deeper understanding, self-acceptance, joy, and authenticity in one's life.
I am currently pursuing advanced training in psychoanalysis at NYU's affiliate psychoanalytic institute, PANY, as well as transference focused psychotherapy at Columbia University's psychoanalytic center. I also continue to teach as a Clinical Instructor at NYU GSoM Adult Psychiatry Residency, and work part-time as a staff psychiatrist at NYU's Student Counseling and Wellness Center. Whether we are working together in psychotherapy, on medication, or both, my approach is warm, non-judgmental, and transparent, fostering an environment where we can explore any thought or feeling, no matter how difficult.
