My Treatment Philosophy
I provide psychotherapy and, when needed, medication management to adults suffering from a wide-range of psychological issues. Whether you are in emotional crisis, experiencing symptoms of diagnosed mental illness, or dealing with more chronic issues of dissatisfaction, maladaptive relational patterns, indecisiveness, work or relationship stress, grief, or low self-esteem, I will take the time to get to know you and discover the unique nature of your problems. I strive to provide relief for acute symptoms while doing the deep therapeutic work required to get at the root of your discontent, with the goal of making lasting change.
I have extensive experience treating individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD and complex trauma, personality disorders, insomnia, and chronic illness. I believe psychotherapy is the best method to help individuals heal and experience life with more meaning, joy, creativity and security. In certain cases, I also offer medication to help manage and alleviate symptoms.
Finding the right therapist and psychiatrist can be a daunting process. I believe patients deserve to know, from the first session on, how I am conceptualizing their psychological problems and how I plan to help. If you think we may be a good fit, or would like to learn more about my treatment philosophy, please contact me for a consultation.
I offer in-person services in Brooklyn, and virtual services to anyone in the state of New York.
Experience
I have worked with adults of all ages in hospitals, emergency rooms, clinics, and private practice. I am also a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health. In addition to my work in private practice, I work at NYU's Counseling and Wellness Center where I see undergraduate and graduate students. I have received years of intensive supervision from highly-trained senior psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, and family therapists. I am currently in psychoanalytic training.
